Got pulled over....

Oh yeah btw the Car is running! and does she ever sound mean!... so yeah got pulled over for having too loud of a car... had to explain to the cop that I didn't have an Illegal exhaust (didnt tell him the no cat part, he only asked about the muffler lol) and then I had to try to expain to the state boy that there is a such thing as an adjustable borla exhaust.... anyways he just looked at my I.D. and walked away saying I could go... 1st time in 4 years ever being pulled over... kind sucks but atleast I didn't get a ticket

been running since about 1 today... put 160+ miles on it so far and it's pretty mean... heavier lope than i expected and it has a lot of pull... but I cant go over like 2k or 60mph for 500 miles so I can't get the full power potential yet... yeah I thought I was going to get a ticket for sure when the cop said "we let you go 2 or 3 times an hr n a half ago but you pushed your luck"... might not of even been me since there were 2 other cars in town almost just like mine but yeah... oh well.... probably was..

That's one thing I love about Florida. No matter how loud your car is, they can't give you a ticket so as long as you have a muffler and the pipe(s) aren't over 3 in. Congrats though man, it's always great when things turn out better than you expect. Any plans on a video/sound clip anytime soon?

here in MD if u get a ticket for having a loud exhaust (mostly givin to ricers) u have to go to the police station and they use a decibal meter to see if its to loud. usually around here its the state police who are dicks.
my iroc had dual straight pipes and i never got pulled over by cops, just got complements from them, lol. didn't get pulled over till i left 60ft of solid rubber in front of my high school. even then i still got a warning.

yup, i know, its from the brake booster, its actually not that bad... when the motor comes out some day the engine bay will be fully redone

It's a good thing my Borla is adjustable... it has like 4 different setttings... right now on the loudest... but the sad thing here is I got pulled over for my car being too loud and, remember, I hadnt even reved past 2k rpms.... I can't imagine what they're going to do when I push the 7k mark lol

With a LT4 timing chain and LT4 valvetrain. A LT1 can safely be reved to 6300 RPM area but I would not go higher than that.

I doubt I'll do much more than 6k but it's always possible.... yeah I did the work myself... kind of surprised it fired at the first turn of the key and is still running lol... when the break-in is done I'll try to get some sound clips or a video

plus thats how the local speed shop breaks in all his motors, he goes on sea ray road and floors it and just beats it and its been working for him for the past 30 years.

exactly. my auto tech teacher did not like to brake in his motors. i built a 383 and put it in his 78 malibu and what does he do, takes it right to the track. next day he brings it back in and theres a rod sticking 3 inches out of the block. 6 thousand bucks down the drain.
moral of the story...brake in ur motors.

FYI in NJ they can ticket you but there is no specification or measurement for it. Had a few cops look thru all the books at the local station.
