High Idle

Well, let's start the Fusion discussions. So far, I'm very satisfied with performance and ride.
However, I've noticed that the engine (V6) idles at about 1600 RPM upon cold engine start-up. After a minute or so, RPM drops to 1000 level.
Is this normal ? Thanks - and all the best to Fusion owners !

Hey Gerard113,
The answer to your question is yes. It is normal for you V6 to start at a high idle. It's just the engine Warming up. I just bought a fusion about 2 weeks ago and it does the same thing. In fact it was the same with my 95 T-bird. It much the same thing as the older carberated cars that used a choke to get the car warmed up.

all cars do that, if it idles lower the car would vibrate apart till it warmed up.
