Tailgate Struts

Any idea where to buy these online at a reasonable price. Cannot seem to find them in local autopart stores and don't want to go to the dealer if I can help it.

I have regularly seen them on ebay. Bought a set for the convertible there and they are doing well.

I got some good used ones at a wrecking yard for $6. Took me about 15 minutes to unscrew them.

Yea, junker is your best bet. They're really expensive new. www.car-part.com

ya they were $10 at the junkyard last time i was there and i didnt pick them up. wish i had though.

Thanks for the replies. Junkyward is one option and cheap also - one thing that concerns me is that they may already be worn and not last too long. Found them being sold on ebay - a new pair for about $30. Only thing it says 89 - 96. Will they fit on a 2000. I have no knowledge of the earlier models so am not sure what the differences may be.

um in the junkyard, all hatches are opened. If the struts are bad the hatch closes. If it stays up its good lol and it will stay up until it fails.
Everyone Ive been too lol. Very common junkyard item.

And mind you, drill some new holes and any hatch struts will work. I dont know which ones would be considered your performance struts lol.
