ok guys im looking at purchasing a 1990 toyota corolla with 262k miles on it. the only reason im considering it is at the moment im despirate for transportation and the market that is my price range at the moment is prety bare. ok so what maintanence can i expect to have to preform in the next 6 months on a 1990 toyota corolla with 262k miles on it with a standard transmission. asuming that minimal regular maintance was preformed.

the asking price is 1,500 dollars. i might negotiate for it but im not going to start barganing prices before i decide wether its worth my trouble to buy it or not. im looking at the 2500 and under market localy ive ben beatin to a few deals and im geting prety despirate. currently the car does run he drives it to work every day(i am his boss) and ive ridden in it and i have felt no serious clutch sliping. i was just wonerding what potentialy im looking at having to work on in the neer future so i can calculate my risk if i were to buy it.

i got a 91 civic hatchback with 16" sport edition rims and falken ziex tires for $3k if you wanna come down to New Orleans to get it...lol....i'd get a free carfax report of the car and probably take it to a mechanic to see what he/she thinks...good luck, lemme know how it turns out

I wouldn't pay that much. I am not sure what your situation is but I would watch craigslist. I got my 97 prism with 104,000 on it for $1200. It was a great deal but cars are more reasonable on that site. I almost bought a 97 Nissan with 72k for $700 from a kid graduating college. I did not get there in time. I think you can find a much better deal. Also, remember that Prisms are basically corollas but can be purchased for a lower price.
