Hello there, I have a 96 Rodeo with 230k miles it runs OK, besides oil and atf leaks everywhere, anyway I just got another Rodeo is a 97 3.2 engine, automatic, 4x4, that is rollover, the body is not good ,but it has a good motor, tranny and suspension and I was thinking of switching everything to my 96 (the 96 is also 3.2, auto, 4x2 ) since the frame on 4x4 and 4x2 seems to be the same, or maybe just switching the body from the 96 on the frame of the 97.
what would you advise me to do? what is less work?
Thank You for looking and any input will be appreciated.

Seems like it would be easier to swap bodies but you need to make sure the rolled over Rodeo frame and suspension is all straight and true.

I would think it would have easier to just swap the engine and tranny and leave the transfer case off.

Believe me! this little truck is something else, when I got it, it was super filthy you cold not see the engine or knew the color of the interior, but after some scrubbing, new rancho shocks, new ball joints, brakes and 32's it look like a champ, oh yeah, after the first sea foam treatment and good oil change, the engine ticking is gone, and it has a very nice leather interior too! man all for $1000 bucks you cant beat that.
the only complaints are, too many oil and tranny leaks, the suspension easily bottoms out and a very vague steering (too much play), thats why i bought the rolled over one, to rejuvenate my already tired truck.
I think the way to go is to swap the engine-tranny and rear end, cause i think to swap the body, will take equipment that I dont have.
anyway Thank You guys for your opinions.
