What was your first model? My first was a (don't laugh) snaptite Kenworth, but at the same time I got a 1996 Boss Mustang.

My first model was the Revell mustang lowrider. The other day I decided to take it apart and update the styling.

My first model was an `82 Trans Am annual model, and it was a new kit at that time!  I haven`t stopped building since. That was when I was in first or second grade. I think I built 50 or so 3rd gen Trans Am models in my lifetime.

My first kit was a lime green California Roller VW van by Revell. I have a re-issue of it and I will post picture of it. At the same time, I had a big 1/8 scale Jaguar that had operable windows. I think I blew it up with firecrackers (the fate of most of my older models! ).

Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer - just like the one that crashed into the neighbours tree........

Gotta love that brush paint job........

Still got it - even waxed it the other day. It must be 15 years old.

Cheers

First model kit ever: Snap-tite space shuttle. I was about 6. Turned out crappy. :(

First model kit in "modern times": Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Runabout. About 8 years ago. Turned out decent because the guy at the shop told me to use a spray can for the base and acrylics for the details. Works good. I still do it that way when I can. ;) Built one "car" during my sci-fi period: the AMT BTTF Delorean. I think I killed it though...

First kit of current automotive enthusiasm: Tamiya Honda S2000. :D  I've had it for about three years but it's still not done yet for some strange reson...

My first model was a 300ZX painted in yellow, back in November 2001. Well, in its original state it was quite horrible (I tried to do the window trim and side moldings on the body by brush :o ).

Now it lies in my cabinet with a new paint job and I am quite pleased with it.

My dad had a model of that Kombi! I saw it last year, but after being moved around for about 30 years it had fallen apart, been smashed up, was missing parts amongst other things wrong with it. We had to throw it out:( It was beyond repairing. Please post pictures of it! I want to see it again.

And my first glue kit done by myself was an old Revvel Beetle Convertible to add to my collection.

My first ever scale model was an 1/72 Douglas DC-3 I've build when I was 9 years old.
It was not painted, was build with lots of non plastic glue, but it gave me a great joy to build and was the start of it all.

My first was the Boyds Che-zoom from Testors. This was back when I was like 6 or 7 and haven't stopped building since. Funny how one car can start a hobby.

I can not even remember what my first model was. That was over 20 years ago, geesh!! I have been modeling since I was about 10 and that was back in 76'. I stopped doing 1/24 scale stuff for a while and now I back doing it. Cars have been a staple of modeling for me but I have built just about anything out there-armor, ships, planes, figures, si-fi, trucks, cars, RC and then some! I still come back to cars...

My first was when I was 5, mom brought home this Corvette kit and built it with me. It was metal-flake green when we finished and turned-out pretty well (if my 30-year-old memory is clear!) It, like all of my early kits, left this world with a boom or in a blaze of glory. One day I was on E-bay and seeing this kit got me feeling nostalgic (REALLY nostalgic - it was big-bucks!) and so I bought it. Not sure if or how I will build it......

first model made since starting modelling again was
tamiya Honda S800 racing type. Did not paint the body but brush painted engine and interior parts. Looked good for first attempt.
Seems a lot of people started with Tamiya.
