Front Wheel Bearings

Okay, Once again I have another question.
How difficult is it to change the front wheel bearings in a 2001 4x4 XLT/3.0L-6Cyl?
Is this a task that requires a rocket scientist or can this be done by myself?
I'm certainly not afraid to get down & dirty to get a job done. I'm just concerned whether or not I'm qualified or it has to be done by a professional mechanic.
Will the new bearings have to be removed and/or pressed in with a special device and will they new bearings be packed in some sort of grease?
Once again. Thank you in advance.

I am not 100% sure, but I think the entire hub/bearing assy is replaced as a unit on that. You will need an impact gun to remove the axle nut, but if it is an entire unit (check parts store) then you can do it!

Thanks Johnny.
I have the impact wrench.
I'll ask about the bearing at the parts store to see if its one unit.
If it is I'm all over it.
Thanks again.

Just don`t re-install the new one using an impact gun.

Thanks buddy on the re-install tip. The only reason I would ever use the impact wrench would be to zip a nut down on a bolt. I have a torque wrench that get's the job done just fine. Is there an approx. spec. in ft/lbs for the bearing or is snug tight going to work?
Once again, Thanks.
Once again, Thanks.
