97 tahoe LT wiper issues

My wipers are on the fritz sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. Does anyone know where the wiper motor is located and about how much it will cost for a new one?

The motor is against the firewall under the driver side wiper. Your problem is probably the circuit board, do a search on this forum and you'll see some discussion on it. Figure around $30 and 5-10 minutes to switch out the board. It's a very easy fix and I doubt that you need a new wiper motor.

Many of these trucks were recalled for this issue, check with the dealership and see if yours falls into that category. If so they should fix it for free.

There is a TBS on the PC board failure. Dealer replaced it for free and put alittle sticker on the cross member near radiator.

I have heard of some people re-soldering it if you were in a bad situation.
