Ok so I got my car scanned yesterday and fault code P0442 came up-Evap Mission. What do I do to fix that? Obviously I am no mechanic, so if it is something that can be done by a newbie any help would be appreciated. Any help.

Thiers a whole boat load of things it could be.
Sometimes its just a loose or bad gas cap..
But thier are evap canister, 3-4 other vacum lines/feul lines, thiers a purge valve, thier lines fuel pressure sensor.
Could be leaks any where, I've spent a few testing and looking before for these leaks.
Good Hunting

I had this a while back on my GT.
The first thing I did was replaced the gas cap, still had the trouble code.
Checked all the hoses underneath and found that the hose clamps on the fill neck and one of the others, that had a adjustable clamp, tightened them and the code cleared.
Thiers not alot you can do without a good manual and a volt/ohm meter. I'm not certain about the values with out looking but , sometimes you need a smoke machine to check for leaks much more involved. PITA usually.
Also these codes usually never point to the Exact problem, only in the general direction.
Maybe one day it'll jsut say "hey" "your so and so needs replaced sir"
hope that helps
