This is one of those mods that some poeple have tried, most poeple want to try, but it's still hard to make a decision on. I think you really just have to try it and see if its for you. There are a lot of problems with the electric motors used in these electric cutouts though. ATP Turbo makes a boost actuated cutout with v-band clamps and a 3-6 psi wastegate actuator (reliable technology, obviously). It is a VERY nice unit. I have one on the floor next to me, so I have seen them in person. Just trying to work up the motivation to install it :D I'm going to use it a bit differently than most people do however. It will be mounted inline with the exhaust, not bypassing it. It will have two holes drilled in the plate, so when it is closed it will act like my tip silencer (that I am realy tired of removing at the track and reinstalling before leaving) and when open under boost it will basically be like when I have it removed, straight 3" exhaust, but still going through both mufflers. You can also put a switch and an onld BCS or FPS solenoid in line to hold it open or closed as you wish. Might be worth looking into. With a 3" Y pipe this could be used just like those electric cutouts of course.

Know what I think? I would either run open DP or full exhuast. I wouldnt fiddle shit around with this electric cutout business.

Try that in massachussetts ;) With the quietest aftermarket exhaust on the planet they still pull you over. If the exhaust LOOKS different they pull you over, and you pay for that ticket and pay extra insurance (200-300 per year) for 6 years. Cutouts start to look pretty useful. :)

 Before mike got his catback in we were cruisin around the "ghetto" of b-town. There was a group of indians just sitting around outside, when we were coming up on them they were looking around in the sky and you should have seen their faces when they saw it was us making the noise. I got quite the kick out of that.

I have one of the QTP cutouts on the 06 Ram Hemi. Makes it sound like a '69 Dart when it is open. I like how it can be closed back to stock in about 5 seconds for coming home late at night etc. You can't go wrong with it and if you ever want to sell it they go fast used.

Dude, this thread is over 3 months old, please do not bring back old threads unless you're the original poster and have something important to add such as an update. Thanks.
