Ok...I have a chirping sound under my hood and it is driving me crazy. Started in mid-April. The chirping can be heard when idling and coasting, as well as when the gas is pressed. Volume of the noise increases when the gas is pressed, but the frequency remains constant. Just changed the battery to relieve strain on the alternator and noise remainded. If anyone else has had this problem or knows what this problem may be please let me know. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Welcome Aboard!
Start with the simple things. Inspect the accessory belt AND the tensioner. Remove the belt and inspect both sides for glazing, obvious wear, and contamination. Start the engine without the belt to determine if the noise is still present. If not, either the belt, tensioner/idler, or one of the power accessories is a likely suspect. Since the frequency of the noise is relatively constant at any RPM, it is more likely belt slip than an accessory/bearing failing.
