Cigarette lighter stays on!

Hey guys I have a 96 GMC Sierra 1500. 4.3L Vortec and anyways I have a radar detector and it stays on after I turn the truck off and I am wondering why power still goes to all three of my cig. lights when my truck is off? Thanks

That is the way it is made! To disable it you would have to pull a fuse.

You could always pull the fuse and run the power wire to a key on circut, that way it would shut off when the ignition is off.
