Backup Light Switch

The reverse lights on my 1996 Dodge Caravan don't work. The last time I took it in for a service the mechanic told me that it was the switching that was the problem. I decided not to get it fixed at the time and am now wondering if I could fix this myself.

How difficult would this be? From what I've read, I can buy the switch itself and just need to locate where to remove the existing one so that I can replace it.
