Remove Stock Radio--92 Lesabre

The old stock radio just isn't cutting it for me anymore--tape decks were great and all, but 14 years has left them in the dust.

I want to install the new system myself, because paying 100 bucks to get something professionally installed on my battered 14-year old beloved ride just doesn't sound worth it... besides, DIY gives a certain satisfaction; I'm sure ya'll know what I mean.

Thanks for the help,

Hey VrmlBasic, welcome to the forums! I don't know if you were asking for help with you install or not, but in case you do need some tips, here some below:
If you haven't already done so, get a dash kit and wire connector at Wal Mart, they're both about half the price of Best Buy's products!
Do all the wiring outside of the car to ensure proper function. Wrap the harness up tight with electric tape.

1)Remove woodgrain trim from dash (pops right off, held with metal clips)
2)Remove all 4 dash vents (Use needle nosed pliers, pull straight out at the top)
3)Carefully remove the screws from the top of the air duct, where you removed the vents, I'm sorry I forgot what socket/ torx size you'll need)
4)Open glove box and remove all mounting bolts, pull glove box out of dash
5)Remove the 2 screws above instrument panel, and along the bottom of the black dash bezel (this bezel covers the instrument cluster, radio and climate controls)
6)Once all screws are removed, shift the vehicle to 3 and remove the black bezel (the shifter must be down at 3 for the panel to be removed)
7)Remove the 3 bolts securing the stock radio to the dash (check deep in the back of the radio in the dash, I believe there is another bolt hidden back there holding it also)
8)Pull radio out, disconnect wiring and antenna
9)For best results, remove the mounting clips from the factory radio and transfer them to your aftermarket kit. This will guarantee a perfect fit, and they're much stronger than the plastic aftermarket ones
10) Connect the new radio. Before bolting up, test the new radio and all functions to be sure everything is connected properly
11)If tests ok, bolt in and the rest of the install is the the opposite as the above. Good luck!

You need to write a manual, kok328 that couldn't have been more clear:)
