Speed Sensor Problem? Help! P1529, P0501, P0500

My girlfriend has a 2002 Hyundai (http://www.hyundaiforum.com/m_5145/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#) Elentra that recently failed the MA saftey inspection. From the OBD there were three error codes, p1529, p0501, and p0500. According to the obd-codes.com, two of the codes are as follows: "P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction, P0501 Vehicle (http://www.hyundaiforum.com/m_5145/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#) Speed Sensor Range/Performance." AS for p1529, I've heard everything from "that's the code that tells the computer to turn the check engine light on" to "that's a code from the TCU telling the ECU to put the transmission into safe mode". Which one is it? Do I need to check the transmission computer as well? And clear those codes?

Does anyone know the location of the speed sensor? Has anyone replaced it before? Any information would be great. Thank you.

The speed sensor on a non-ABS equipped Elantra is located in the right front wheel area.
