This is my latest project. My dad and I have been restoring Model A Fords for many years, so this was a labor of love. I don't know why, but I love drawing rusty/junkyard pieces. I guess it's because they have a lot of character.

Nice drawing and composition. I only have one problem area. It's supposed to be an old truck sitting in a field and I presume it's rusty and weatherworn but you are representing reflections on the fender and hood by using sharp color separations. If the paint was faded and rusty there wouldn't be any reflections from it. I don't mean to criticize but just give you something to think about.

I think that depends on the intensity of the light.

Even on a rusty car there is reflection. Technically all color is a reflection.

Sometimes taking liberties and stepping out of what is real to get more visual impact is a good thing.

Overall it's a decent peice.

I'd like to see more.

Just my opinion.

Unless, of course, it had just rained...hey, I gotta defend myself here... however, the rear fender is a bit sharp now that you mention it. Thanks for the comments! B

Hey, no defence necessary. It's a nicely thought out drawing. Sometimes when we're working on something we completely overlook some element of the painting, the shape of a tree, the direction of light etc., and someone can look at it with a fresh eye and see these things. In your case it could be that the rear fender had been painted before it was parked out in the field so it was different than the rest. I just meant it to be an observation.
Keep up the good work.
