Time to get out the sheet styrene & Tamiya putty as I'm doing this one with a bodykit. It's the Fujimi type X kit and so far I've roughly built up the front bumpers & sideskirts - obviously the rear bumper needs sanding down but you get the general idea.
For colour(s) I'm thinking black roof/hood & the rest orange.
Anyway here's the pics - sorry they're a bit dark.

Looks good so far, not sure about the rims yet though so I'll wait and see what they look like with the body colour.

Spent a bit of time sanding down the rear bumper - think it's just about ready for a coat of grey primer which'll show up the areas that need further work.

I've also been fiddling about with possible wheels (I just threw the first set under it to take the picture). 19" look too large imo & I only have limited 18" rims in the spares box so possible alternatives are -
Kranze Shoki
http://members.aol.com/jonesandy898/sx3.jpg
or
Workmiester S1
http://members.aol.com/jonesandy898/sx4.jpg
I'll wait until the paints on before making a final decision.

I say go with the Kranze wheels. They are different from what you would normally see on a car like that.

Thats a tough one.... both the Kranze and the Workmiesters look great. I would probably lean towards the Kranze though.

R34 rims :iceslolan There was a car at LSU and at the autocrosses there, just like the 180 you're building, with R34 rims in the back and something else in front. He had to do a lot of bending to get them in there, but it was hot as hell. I got an extra set if you're interested (I think). Otherwise, the Kranze are bit cruise-y, and the Workmeisters are more drift-y.

I really like the direction this is going. I was trying to find one of these kits to make into a sil-eighty, but I winded up doing the s13 as is. The kits are looking great, and I think the paint scheme you have planned for this is going to really set this one off. Keep up the good work.

Now that I'm fairly happy with the general shape of the body kit I've given the bodyshell a quick coat of primer - as expected it's hightlighted lots of areas that will need some more work so it's back to filling & sanding :frown:

i personally like workmeister rims more

bodykit is very nice , i like it very much

one thing more : it will look better if you smooth the muffler "hole" edges so it'll be more elliptical (im really sorry for bad english)

Managed to spray the body up over the weekend - I hadn't got any gloss black so I used matt but once the clear is on it'll be ok. Also found these Fujimi rims (name escapes me) which I think I'll use.

LOVE the color scheme. You're in an orange mood lately aren't you. :grinyes: Aren't those wheels Enkies, the kind they used in the Amemiya RX-8 Kit?

Just a quick update on the small amount of progress I've made - clearcoat's been polished out and rear window trim painted. At the moment I'm trying to cut down as set of SAS Bride seats to fit the interior.

the front and the side looks nice but the rear bumper don´t, i prefer the second rims for this car, the colors are great!!

Just a couple of pics of the interior - I had to cut down the SAS Bride seats as they were too high -the seat belt material is from Studio 27 plus p/e buckles etc. from Mr.Model (the the pedals & floor mats are also Mr. Model items). As the decal sheet was missing from my kit I used the instrument cluster from the Aoshima Spocom accessory set.

Nice interior and I love those lil pe pedals. Flocking is a bit too much imo and seems too thick to be to scale, but looking very good nonetheless.

I've finally made a decision on the rims - Workmiester S1's with gold centres - not more more to do - I'll probably have to take a few liberties with the suspension to get the ride height down !.
