Can anyone tell me what other stock GM rear ends will bolt up to my 91 Caprice 9c1 350, with little or no mod. Tryin to get a lower gear.

Any '77-'96 B or D body (Caprice, Lesabre, Catalina, Delta 88, Cadillac DeVille and/or Fleetwood, Olds 98 Regency RWD).

Why would you want to swap out an 8.5" 9C1 rear-end, besides high gearing, they're tough!

I was kinda thinking that too, but some people would rather have shorter gears that can launch them (and break rear end components) faster.

There's that whole wheel bolt pattern thing to think about, too.

Just sold a 10 bolt with 3.73's(maybe) and a 12 bolt LSD w/ 3.23's.... Not sure if they would've worked anyway..Came out of early 70 Malibu's.

Question... Is it possibe to change the gearing without changing the entire rear end? (ie, just changing the gears inside of the differential housing) Thanks!

Oh yeah! Just surf around Jeg's or Summits website to look for some different ratios.. Look at the very bottom of the page in the link..
