Which blue for Viper?

Hi,

I'm giong to be starting a Viper SRT10 from Revell in the next week or so and I was wondering which Tamiya blue is the closest to the real thing -- Mica Blue or Racing Blue? I wish I could use Cobra Colors, but I'm stuck with using rattle cans for the time being.

BTW, any other suggestions on the kit would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help.

Mica blue would be more sparkley, plus
closer, and the other more boring. Go
for Mica.

As for ideas, I have none other than
stock, because supercars are
dream-cars, and dream-cars can't
be improved on. Right?

Which version of the kit? The coupe or roadster? The roadster goes together pretty much without a hitch. The coupe's rear interior needs to be trimmed for it to not look like junk. If you don't have this version, you probably don't know what I mean. As for blue, I have to dissagree with Sui. I'd use the racing blue. I reckon you mean TS-51? That's just my preference tho. Good luck with it all:)

Yup, Mica Blue is a good match.
Suggestions? Just one.
If you want a nice stance on this kit, here's what I did: Glue the brakes to the wheels, then slice off the locating pins on the hub-carriers (the part that the brakes should have glued to). Glue some thin plastic spacers to the hub-carriers, then when you have the car supported at the ideal ridehight, glue the wheel/brake assemblies to the hubs.
This makes mounting the wheels easy, and you get a really nice low look.

Enjoy! :)

Try Model Master's new lacquer GTS Blue Pearl. I think it's about spot on.

Thanks, Guys. I think I'm going to use the Model Master blue. I've never used Model Master sprays before, but I'm sure they can't be that different. Its an acrylic lacquer right? How about the interior -- black, I guess?

Some Kid -- I wouldn't mind seeing some pics.

Merkava -- thanks for hint. I'm sure I'll understand it better, once I get the assembly going.

Blubaja -- It's the coupe.

Alright then ill try and get something up for you tomorrow, you want them PMed or posted on this thread? I think the paint is just lacquer but make sure it is from the lacquer system, and dont get the model master lacquer system primer it leaves bad orange peel use something like tamiya or duplicolor spray
