I'm thinking about buying this 1997 Eclipse rs for sale for 900 bucks it has 190,000 mils on it and its a 5 spped. They said its been wrecked befor and the doors dont close that good you have to lift up on door tto close right. What should i look for known the car has been wrecked befor i buy it to make sure its good? Thanks Jovan

The car is not "good". It has 190,000 miles and it's been in an obvious wreck that wasn't fixed (or fixed correctly). Your only gonna be out $900 if it takes a complete shit, but it sounds like the car is on it's last leg. How do you expect a car like that to last?

I say buy it. $900 is not that much of a lost, and you can fix it up!

..but then again, it's only an RS. I bet anyone who has ever owned (or at least most) a non-turbo DSM wishes that it was boosted. Performance is an addictive thing. Plus getting beaten by a Civic is not a nice thing lol.

I say buy the car if:
a) You don't care about performance, but still want to at least pick up girls
b) You think you can make a profit off of it
c) It's going to be your first car (first car you owned or first project car)
d) You're willing to deal with all the problems that it will have
e) You can get it for even cheaper and then sell it for higher without doing anything to it

geez. 'RS' '$900' and '190,000' miles should have made you turn away.

Yeah, because you obviously own an Eclipse and know anything about them.

Jovan, I say go for it. If you have to lift up on the door to get it to shut right, then that's more than likely a hinge problem, if it wasn't the hinge, you shouldn't be able to lift up on the door anyways. I own an RS and I love it. It's not so much good for racing, but its a sexy car, and if taken care of, they can go a long ways.

Punctuation and grammar, who the hell wants to read something like what you just posted.
