We have a 95 dodge intrepid that has never had any problems until recently. When driving home one day it completely died and refused to crank. 4 hours later we went back it cranked and drove straight home. The next day drove it 15 miles to work, no problems, then on the way home it started. It would sputter and stall then die, I put it in neutral and it cranked back on it's own. After more spitting and sputtering it died I put it in neutral and cranked it myself, after getting home and it sat for about 30 min it wouldn't crank again. we hooked up a test light to see if it was the fuel pump or the electricity to the fuel pump, it was the electricity. And when he stopped to look at it, it would not crank again, until about 3 hours later. When we got it home we checked the diagnotic codes and got a 12 then 55 (final code). What is a 12?????:banghead:

Across most of the Chrysler car lines, Code 12 means: "Problem with stand-by memory circuit. Direct battery input to controller disconnected within the last 50 ignition key-ons." The most common cause of this code is disconnecting the battery. I suggest you check your battery connections, both at the battery and the starter.
