01 monte 2 GTP swap

I have a 01 Monte LS 3.4 and i wanted to put a l36 supercharged (3.8)engine in it would it be worth the money i wanted to just pull the engine out of a 99 grand prix gtp is it the same tranny would it bolt up?? i wanted to know all what all i needed to pull ECU, springs, monuts, tranny ETC...

The swap wouldn't be worth the expense. From the donor car you would need mounts, PCM, wiring harness, fuel pump assembly, transmission, axles etc... and the year to year differences in PCM programming may make it necessary to reflash the PCM to work with your car's instrument cluster. The GTP's use GM's 4T65E-HD transaxle to handle the extra power of the supercharged engine, so reliability would be an issue using the stock trans from your car. IMO, you'd be better off selling your 01 and either buying a Monte SS (that came with the supercharged engine) if you prefer the Monte body style, or get a GTP or Buick Regal GS that came with the supercharger.
