How do i remove the shift knob on my 2002 ranger?

Im trying to remove my shift knob so i can intall an aftermarket one, but dont know how to do it, i tried looking for a set screw or clip and even unscrewing it but it wont budge, is there a specific way to get it out? let me know thanks.

I think it is glued on. Try twisting it back and forth to break it loose.
