Loss of Power?

my car is a 93 Maxima SE, sometimes it runs fine but other times ill be driving along and all of a sudden, check engine, oil, battery and some other lights come on and i have no power and when i go to slow down or stop i have hardly any turning or braking power but then i stop, put it in park, turn car off, then restart it and then it seems to run fine........please help. Im only 20 and dont know much about cars, but im guessing its probably some type of sensor or computer chip problem?..also please don't just say "run self diag" because i dont know how for one, and for 2 i dont have the tools to do so.

just say "run self diag"
- because at the link pages, see below, u have all the info u need for it, plus+
- OBDI self diag is lousy, dont expect to catch any problem
- your SE has all the same bits, no distributor but coilpacks (they wont all die simultaneously)
- I'd start from connector cleanup job, see p.14&10
