i have a 77 glc in great condition and am wondering if a 1.5 from an '81 fwd will couple up to the rwd tranny. anyone with any info, it would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, but the 1.5 from a later model panelvan or stationwagon (which are still rwd) will bolt straight in.

right on good to know. again the post 81 rwd models are much more rare here than the fwd's. i was just wondering cause i had a line on a euro spec head, dual weber manifold and factory race header, but all were only for the fwd 1.5 engine.

I'm unsure but I *think* the head and manifold may bolt onto the rwd block. However the header wouldn't be much good to you, being designed for a fwd application.
