hahaha that's awesome, but what is that, a scion t/c??? Wait, it looks like a g35... enh whatever it is, that's pretty cool mang... I bet the audience loves getting soaked though, the thing's like a giant super-soaker...

looks like quite a ride. Do you have any more info on that? What exactly is the propusion system? Looks like a rocket. but obviously not since you said it runs on water. Obviously not combustion either.

Link if you got one bro.

Why the hell would nasa make and test something in france???

found some more info, for anyone who's interested.

it's a water rocket car, it's a sealed container filled with 29 gallons (110L) of water, the water is then heated until the pressure inside the tank gets up to 50 bars (725psi) ... the driver then opens a valve and 29 gallons of hot water pushes the car (5G of acceleration) up to 213 mph ...

also, its not made by nasa. The rocket system is based on a nasa rocket though.

so basically...its pointless, exept as a drag car.

No disrespect Morph...just seemed like a very interesting thing so i decided to do some more research.

BTW found another vid too...

Yeah, its just a one stage rocket... Very simple but looks really cool (It would be fun as crap to drive too!)

If it was made by nasa, WTF is it doing in that other country which is not America?

...what do you mean? Plenty of countries use other countries' technology.

yeah... everyone steals everyone elses thoughts:eek: ... this is usual and actually drives technology higher.

I did see somewhere a water powered car that was not a rocket, not sure how the guy used it, but looked interesting, I can't find anything on it now but ill keep looking...

That was neat. Reminds me of thoes 2 lieter rockets I used to make as a kid. If only they could harness that power and use it to drive the car instead of make it run for a 1/4 mile. Then there would be some major interest in it. That just a rocket in a car.

Yeah, the problem is that it uses metals to create metal oxides to release hydrogen from the water but the amount of energy that is liberated is less then it took to make the metal in the first place.

I have seen them use bauxite as well which doesn't require as much pre-processing, but it's not worth the transportation/distribution costs nor fulfiles the energy density requirements for a feasible gasoline replacement.

doesnt a fuel cell use nothing but water?

Nope... A fuel cell converts hydrogen into water and produces electricity.

So the only thing that comes out of the fuel cell is water, but you have to put hydrogen (and oxygen or air) in.
