I just got an 88 Civic and I just have a few questions, and hoped you guys could help. Theres a few things I want to do, but have a limited budget, So I cant do them all at once... I was wondering which I should do first and what i should wait a little for...

Paint Job
Windows Tinted
New Speakers (Not really a system, just somethin better than the shit thats in there now)
Body Kit
Altezzas

Also... I would like my car to bbe a little faster. Not really for racing or anything, I just want a little more kick, ya know? I dont really know much about cars, YET... so What are some things that I could do myself that wont cause me to blow up my car. lol. ANy tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

the 1st 3 bolt-ons you'll hear the most are I/H/E (intake/header/exhaust).

Paint Job
Windows Tinted
New Speakers (Not really a system, just somethin better than the shit thats in there now)
Body Kit
Altezzas

i would do speakers and then tint first just to make daily driving more pleasurable. i would wait for paint until after you get a body kit (or you'll be painting twice). i personally wouldn't get altezza's. but since you mentioned it, i would put them on after the body kit and paint. :)

all i have to say is...do what makes you happy! put a flashing christmas tree on top...as long as it makes you :D

Tru that Ami!
do whatever you think will look good. It's your car, "soup" it up to suit your personality. !!

good luck man!

First mods I did when I acquired my 88 DX...

Momo steering wheel...$200 plus hub + $40=$240
Goodguys special cd player/radio=$150 (free installation)
Alpine speakers=$150 (all four) installed

That was it for a while...I was lucky that the car came with 14 inch aftermarket rims already, so it looked decent. Listening to good quality music and holding on to a wrap around leather steering was good enough then...But No...it couldnt stop there and it didnt stop there either...Few thousand bucks later and a couple of maxed out credit cards
:D

Oh, best mod for the money, except for motor swap was the HKS exhaust for $350 on ebay. Even when I was running the stock D15 motor, it gave me noticeable increase in power.

Just my .02/03/04 etc...
