The wife just old me the brake warning light came on yesterday while driving. It's got about 59500 miles on it. I did a quick test. Pedal pretty mushy and emergency brake doens't hold at idle. Can I just replace all of the pads on all 4 wheels like I use to do fronts on my 86? What's different about the emergency brake adjustment since this one has rear discs instead of drums?

Also, the emergency brake is not holding. The guy a the auto supply said there are separate parking brake shoes for $75 each. The old drum type had a cable adjustment. How are the rear disc types adjusted?

Shop around for the parts, I purchased my rear shoes in a set. Less than 75 for both. The kicker is I had to replace both rear disc. Have your old ones with you to check as there are two sizes for mine. While I had it apart I also replaced the pads. Be careful not to drive with the ebrake on as it will destroy itself quickly.
Shop around for the prices of disc and shoe + Pads. I finally found my rear disc at NAPA for much less than anyone else. O Riley has the best price for front disc in my area. Central OK.... Autozone was close too. The dealer in our area is trying hard to compete. Sometimes they are lowest.
Best of Luck.
