98 max v.s. 03 eclipse

Well one of my co-workers i work with owns a 03 mitsu eclipse. We talked about racing before but never got the chance to. he even wager 100 dollars....thats when i got afraid, i thought he had a turbo or something, and im completly stock (even have the fugly orange bumper lights). but last night we had to close our store, so we finally had a chance to go at it. we raced a little at the parking lot, but had limited space, so not really much happened. then afte we went to this wide open strip. i killed him off the start with my auto. by the time i hit 70 he was like 5 car-lenght behind. i kept on going onto i hit like 125, and the car wouldn't go faster :confused:. at this point i'm thinking wtf. he caught up and passed me. i look at my gauges and see the o/d button off!!!! so turned it back on but it was to late to catch up. i definetely enjoyed this friendly race. i think we are going to go at it again on friday....this time i will show him no mercy.
p.s. we raced like 4 different times, and all of them i had to slow down for him to catch up cuz i felt sorry for him, and wanted to keep it fair. i cant wait till then so i can embarras him. i only wish i would have taken him up on the 100 dollar offer. i could have bouth some clear bumper lights.:D
