What diffrence do they have? I took out the Oem ecu and dropped in the JDM ecu, it has a little improvements but now I have the MIL on. Its on a 94 Civic, but i got the ecu from a 91 Civic hatch. w/ a JDM D15B engine. What is better in performance?

Dude, the 94 is OBD-1, the ecu you put in is not, thats why your getting those codes...Or im a noob, probably the latter.

well dude tell me why the JDM ecu fits into a male connector from a obd 1 wire harness, obviously a obd 0 ecu will not fit a obd 1 connector.
JDM D15B is OBD 1do a litlle research.

You havnt been here long enough to be a cocky little bitch yet. Sit down.
Now can you accually prove it made more power or is this just a butt dyno? Poeple offen think things make differnces when they really do not, sometimes it may even be slower but they notice a change and think its faster. Whats the ecu code? Most people that do the d15b swap dont use a jdm ecu.

we'll essentially a p08 is a p28. i would say it to better to buy a p28 then chip than to go with a p08. chipping a p28 is really easy, all ya need is a zif socket and a lil other things. good luck with your car.
sorry 'bout the arguement, but i ain't sleeped since i got off work. so nite ya'll

You're confused about one of the years, either the year of the car or the year of the ECU that you are running. The plugs from OBD-0 ('91 or older) and OBD1 ('92-'95) are completely different. If you do infact have a '94 Civic, then you must be using an OBD1 ecu; there is NO way around it. Here's what the ecu commections look like on an OBD0 ('91) ecu: http://www.ff-squad.com/tech/wiring/wiring.88-91.jpg Here is what they look like for an OBD1 ('94) ecu: http://technet.ff-squad.com/wiring/obd1/plugs2.jpg
Pull the ECU code to find it out, do a search online if you don't know how to do that.

i'm wondering if it's kinda like the pr3 ecu's. ya know there were both obd-0 and obd-1. he probably just got the car year messed up.

Well if it's the PM5, then that's an OBD0 only ecu. There are very few ecu's that keep the ecu code from one obd to another.
