This is a pretty common issue on some Fords and the topic has been discussed numerous times on this forum. Using electrical contact cleaner in the latch will likely solve your issue as suggested. You may want to search the forum for "ajar" or "door switch" if you'd like more details on the issue.

I am one of those who had trouble with it. As you have said, no big deal! Some elec. cont. cleaner and W40 and is done.
Mindyou it could take more than one or two squirts, be patient and generous with the W40 and cleaner. Use the fine straw and put it through the door latch.
