Apex'i vs. Greddy

I have decided to purchase a cat-back exhaust system for my car. However, I have only narrowed it down to two systems. The Apex'i world sport, or the Greddy Evolution. I want my exhaust to be fairly quiet. By that I mean that I would like it to be loud at WOT, but fairly quiet at crusing speeds such as 85 mph on the highway. I know that the world sport series is supposed to only be a tad louder than stock, but I'm not sure about the Greddy Evo. I am also looking for something that will provide me with a noticeable gain. I would like to know your opinions and thoughts about each exhaust system. This would help me very much in my final purchase decision and it would be greatly appreciated.

To sum it all up, I am looking for an exhaust that is loud when pushed hard, only slightly louder than stock at crusing speeds, and will provide a noticeable performace gain. Which would you all choose? Thanks in advance for your help.:)

i know a guy that lives by me with the greddy in his 97 integra. Im pretty sure its the Evolution but i would have to double check. He said there was a noticeable gain in HP after he installed it. As far as the tone goes... its pretty decent. You can cruise around pretty well with a pretty low tone. At WOT, it could be a bit louder but i think it sounds fine the way it is

Cool, thanks for the input--good to know that it's not too loud. Keep the responses coming!:D

I just ordered an Apex-i WS for my 6th gen Civic, and should be picking it up tomorrow, or friday. I'd say if you want a quiet sounding exhaust between the two you are deciding on (both EXCELLENT choices, and ones I'd go with) I'd say you'd more than likely want the World Sport. The EVO is good, but to my understanding it's not as quiet as the World Sport. But BOTH sound very nice at WOT.

i personally like the apexi over the greddy, having heard both from friends cars. the greddy is pretty loud for me. after driving with about 5 diff. exhaust systems, i choose the quiter ones over the loud ones, more of a sleeper.

Cool, thanks for the info. Where are you ordering the WS from? How much did it cost?

I ordered mine from a local import shop, $385 out the door!
And I got a call today saying it's ready to be picked up, so I'll have it on by tomorrow! :D

I finally got my World Sport exhaust installed today!

Let me tell you, this thing looks WAY more than it sounds. The tip to it is quite big, well about "3-"3½, I haven't measured to see. :p Anywho, this is the most quietest exhaust next to stock I have ever heard! You can notice it, but from inside the car, it almost sounds as quiet as stock. When driving, it has a nice deep tone to it when you let off the gas, or when it downshifts. Otherwise, it's not even that noticable sound wise. The install for it was fairly easy, getting the stock system off the hangers was pretty difficult at first, but getting the new system on was pretty easy. Took me all of about 2 hours to do. That was with the front of my car on jackstands, and the rear wheels on blocks. If you want noticeable sound (but not too noticable) go with the GReddy EVO, but if you want near stock with added power, go with the World sport!

Cool, that sounds great. I have one more question though, is the World Sport loud at WOT? Like, can you hear it from inside the car? How does it sound on the outside at WOT? Thanks.

From inside the car, at WOT I can't really even hear a difference, it sounds almost like what my car did before I put it on, just with a very quiet, but low hum to it. :) Believe me, this is the last exhaust a cop would pull you over for. My intake is still louder than the exhaust. From outside the car, I'm not sure, but I'm gonna have some one drive it up the street here soon, probably my dad, so I can find out for myself. :) I'll get back to you when I find out about outside the car.

Get a DC Sports! I know I went through the same thing when I wanted to buy an exhaust. I did not know what one to get. I can tell you this much, the W.S. will be quiet compared to the EVO. I wanted something loud and deep, not really high like a bee hive! I love my DC! Plus, it is 100% Stainless so it will take a lot longer to rust! The WS and the EVO do not offer this! Look into it! I am really happy with mine on my 1990 Accord LX! Just my 2 cents!

Umm, just an FYI, but the A'pexi WS exhaust IS stainless steel, the piping to it is specially heat treated, coated layer over the steel piping. The muffler and tip are all stainless steel. ;) Now having owned one, I can tell you that with confidence. Check your facts first, y0!

If I remember correctly the GReddy EVO is S/S as well, any reputable company like A'pexi, DC, or Greddy would be stupid NOT to make their systems S/S.

I am right, look at this link and read the descriptions for the 2 systems....

http://www.modacar.com/products/Honda/Accord/MODACAB

EVO.....

"New to the Greddy exhaust systems lineup is the Evolution. It shows similarities to the Power Extreme but is designed differently. The muffer and tip are resized to fit closer to the body and allows better ground clearance. Features a 115mm tip embossed with the Greddy logo. The MUFFLER (just the muffler, not the full exhaust) is stainless steel providing a strong powerful tone. It is 50 state legal and features a straight through design and mandrel bends for maximum performance."

Apexi WS.....

"A'PEXi World Sport Cat Back Exhaust Systems. These full cat back systems are constructed with SUS T-304 stainless steel CANISTER AND TIP (again, not the full exhaust). ALUMINIZED STEEL PIPING statically treated with titanium power coat. These cat back exhaust systems are also engineered to produce strong mid to top end power for high responsive feel."

Yes, parts of the EVO and WS systems (mufflers and tips) are stainless, but not full stainless like the DC System

http://www.dcsports.com/CB.html

Maybe I know my stuff a little better than both you think!

WTH, isn't that what I said in my post? Go back and read what I said. I said that SAME exact thing about my WS system. I never said it was FULLY S/S, just that the tip and can are.

But believe me when I say DC isn't all that, they are to the parts industry, what Nike is to shoes, just a fancy name in my books. Their strut bars are a POS, that much I know. A good bar should NOT be able to flex in the middle, especially if you grab it and tug on it. Not very safe. I've seen that with my own eyes.

so, i never was wrong when i said that the DC system was ALL stainless compared to the other 2 systems like you said that i was

I never said you were wrong about the DC system, I jeust read what you originally posted as saying that the other 2 systems are not S/S in ANY part of them. The can and the tip are what matter most for being S/S in an exhaust system, look at your factory system, Honda states it as being S/S when infact ONLY the can and resonator piece S/S, the piping is actually treated galvonized steel, so it'll resist rusting and corrosion. The whole system isn't S/S like they lead you to believe. The DC system is infact ALL S/S even down to the hangers. But material wise, I can almost bet you my A'pexi system is just as good as the DC system, S/S or not. ;) It's just all on what they use to make it with, and how they make it.

I dunno...
I think I might go with the Greddy but it sounds like they're fairly similar.
But me??
I'm getting the Fireball (catback) by 5zigen. (maybe)
