My Jeep 98 Cherokee L4 2.5 Liter has not been blowing cool air for a long time, currently it is cooler than the outside air but not by much. It blows volue enough just temp is not low enough I used a Manifold hose set and got readings of:

Car off 90psi Low side 100psi High side

Car running 15-55psi Low Side and 100-150psi High side

while the engine is running the Low side mves towards 55psi then once at 55psi the clutch engages until it drops to 15psi, while the clutch engages the High side moves to 150 psi and drops back to 100psi once the clutch disengages again.

I added a can to the system to see if the clutch would engage full time but it didnt seem to take any of the can's contents,

Thank you for any suggestions.

The high side and low side pressures look low, what was the outside temp when you took those readings? You only charged thru the low side, right? Charging thru the high side port is dangerous..

Forgot about the outside temp, it was 78 degrees, the device I used to measure has a third hose for adding refrigerent through the low side.

Was the can cold while you were charging?

No it was warm the whole time, I expected it to cool down as the gas exited the can but the temp did not change. also I shook the can as directed before piercing the seal.

You need to reopen the tap after you pierce it, then open the low side knob.
Your high side is low. Tip the can a little bit and shake it. At 80F, your low side will be around 40-45psi. High side will be above 200psi. Do not overcharge. The clutch will cycle, which is normal.

Make sure your hose conections to low and high side are getting good connection and depressing the Schrader valves good.
