I have a problem with my truck. Each time the thermostat opens the engine dies. As soon as the engine cools, even a small amount, the truck will start and once again when it comes up to temp the engine will die. Any sugestions? THANKS

Welcome to the forum.
How is the temp when this happens - normal? If coolant level dropping at all then intake could be leaking internal as it heats up. There is a temp sensor in the air intake (small one) and that tells the computer temp to set mixture along with other sensors - but a code should be turning the SES light on - any codes? Clean the MAF sensor (big one in 2" block) in air intake with spray cleaner. Thats a few easy things.

Thank-you for your help. I cleaned the maf sensor and although it hesitated the first time it came up to temp it kept running. We then left the engine running through the cycle a number of times. After about a hour I took it on the road and 10 min. into the drive the truck began to backfire through the intake and would not rev up. :banghead: I have since been informed that the it has been getting progressivly worse fuel mileage. I am now off to review the forums that concern themselves with this problem. Once again, Thanks a Lot.
