Ok, so i got a 96 Monte Z34 3.4L...i jus wanted to let everyone know the fun (sarcasim) i jus endured in the past 2 weeks. To start my fuel pump went..coincidently little did we know that right when we went to fire it up, my timing belt snapped..well, shredded pretty much. Decided to change the serpentine belt as well..Seeing as i have bad oil leak, my brother and i decided to change the gaskets for the upper heads..and then a tune up as well. Well after ordering parts, misordered parts, 105* weather for 3 days, rain and all that, we jus finally got it all back together.. not to mention the last 4 days have been spent working on the timing (pain in the a**). Through all the stress, flying tools, split knuckles, cuts and cuss words, we managed to complete pretty much a 1/2 engine rebuild on one of the hardest possilbe engines from what ive heard. But hey, after $650 in parts, we saved a good $1,400..cant complain..

What about the 3.1L, as difficult?

[QUOTE=Astone89]What about the 3.1L, as difficult?[/QUOTE Much easier, standard pushrod engine, no complex cam set ups and timing issues.
