Cleaning the head with springs and valves on

I know, why don't you just take those out you might ask, well I don't have time really. blah blah you'll regret it, this isn't my fault, im getting forced to move the car to go to college, so.. I have a new block with some cool shit. but since oil systems circulate, if there was shavings in my block, they are in my head, so I started cleaning the head by putting it in a steamy bath with soap (4times) and it's pretty clean, the head was submerged underwater, what hope do I have of getting all or most of the shavings out of the head by doing that? Given that I will use thick oil to prime the engine, then let it idle for 20 min at varying rpm's then drain oil and put new filter on, then do the 500 mile break in with thick non synthetic oil. Will there be shavings still that could cause damage? and will driving the car on a highway make a difference in the break in, because its going to have to come with me...

Sorry if this is everywhere and hard to understand... but any help will be good help.

Take it to the car wash. ;) Good for cleaning. It doesn't take long to get the valves and springs off. Putting them back it might take a few mins though. It took me a whole five mins to get them out.:iceslolan
