Hard Starting 2000 Grand Am

I have a 2000 Grand Am with 2.4 engine that starts hard when cold. Will crank easily over but won't fire up right away and when it does fire up sounds like it is starved for fuel. When car is warm starts great. Recently the fuel pressure regulator was changed because it looked like it was leaking fuel or even sweating like a cold water pipe on a hot day. Could something be causing a vapor lock or air lock when car sits over night causing it to start hard. Would like to check fuel pressure when it is not running to see if it is losing pressure but I don't know how to do this on a 2.4 Any help would be great. Thanks

your fuel filter could be the culprit, but the injectors can also cause hard starts if they are realy dirty or bad.
Old spark plugs/wires can make starting difficult in the cold.
Intake manifold leaks and also your emission control system(egr) could be malfuntioning.
To check your fuel pressure you need a special adapter gauge for your 2.4. You hav to disconnect the fuel line then install the hose and gauge to check it out. big pita !
