What type of box works best in the trunk of a 99' G. Has anybody found a successful box design?

Lots of things to take in to consideration, there!!!!!!
What sort of subs have you got ?????
How much power have you got going to them?????
What sort of bass do you like????
And what sort of music do you listen too.
Fire me some answers and i will do some investigation for you.
Thanks Grunter

Get ready I'm going to shoot them at you.....
Sub= MTX or JL 250-300rms Peak around a 1000
Maybe going to get two 10 or just one 12 or 15
I also want to take into account movablity. I would like to set up the box so that I can take it out easily. For trips and cargo.
I listen to Hip-Hop, dance music, and a little Linkin Park and Metalica. I don't like to listen to music where I just hear boom....boom.....boom... Just like the clean sound but with a little kick.
Also can you clarify what a sealed box is supposed to do. I'm also open to any suggestion on subs.

Before I start I would like to say a lot of this is person opinion, so some people may disagree.
For the type of music you listen to I would go for 2 x 10” or 1 x 12: or even better 2 x 12” And stay away from a slow, boomy 15”.
I would go for a sealed box over a ported one, as they are smaller and easier to make, and not turn to a certain frequency,
As for sub’s either of them would be a good move, as far as I could work out the JL need a bigger box than the MTX 29l (general, not knowing extackly what model you would be getting)
Personally I had 2 x 12” Rockfords in a rear firing sealed box, and that sounded great (and I won a few trophies with it)
Hopefully this helps, any thing else don’t hesitate to ask.
Cheers Grunter

ive got 4 mtxs in my trunk and they r in sealed boxes. if u get mtx a sealed box is the way to go. sealed boxes sound much better and are smaller. if i were u id go for 2 12s if u listen to rap alot.

I will be putting pioneer premier 12's in a sealed box, using a rockford
fosgate amp putting out about 600 watts.think that should be enough.
fits right in.:bandit: :bandit: :bandit:

I would be cautios about them pioneer premier I have blown 4 pairs in my eclipse being powered by a 500.2fosgate make sure you get a good waranty, also my spl's were low with those subs I changed to punch power dvc's a single one & i hit higher spl's with one dvc than I did with 2 pioneer's.
Don't take my word for it ask people who have had a more diverse experience with them!:bloated:

The volume of the box is 2 cubic feet and alittle more...Sounds nice and clean not too boomy...Listen to everything except country and classicals...I hear classical music is the shit for tuning sounds...anyways..thats what I have..I will post pictures one day..

i had 2 12inch solobarics with a rockford power 1000 pushing the subs in a sealed box.it wal loud but im going to be getting new subs.im getting 3 10inch JL W6.so i can bridge them down to 2 ohms.i think that 3 10inch subs give a tighter bass.i listen to variety too so with the 10s the tight bass will sound great instead of the loud echoy bass from the 12s.good luck with that.and sealed boxes will take up less room in your trunk.
