89 Skylark 2.5L fuel not going thru injector

Below is a search result (the Q&A) that compares to my problem, but with no real help in the 'answer'. Mine is a '89 2.5L and I get gas up to the injector but it won't go thru. We suspect a weak fuel pump (put new filter on already), but I wanted to check if could a good quick answer here before I went after the fuel pump. Or is my problem electrical like the 'answer' suggests?? I have current to the injector and I've tried a brand new injector.

ps I don't know what the fuel pressure is -- are there reasonable fuel pressure guages on the market (at this time I'd rather not take it to a shop)?? If so, would there be a way to check the pressure right where the fuel would go into the injector and what should the value be??

Question: 1982 Buick Skylark 2.5, mileage 103000. No gas out of T.B.I. unit. I replaced whole unit and no change. Good gas pressure to it. Pour gas in manually and it will fire. I wiggled wires, rapped on computer, etc. I have electricity to T.B.I. with switch on, and a ground on the same wire when switch off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Answer: The T.B.I. unit is controlled by a number of inputs to the PCM. If the PCM sees no distributor reference, or oil pressure, it will not send a pulse to the injector, or if there is no power to PCM, no injector operation can occur.
