My AC does not work. I was shown in the owner's manual (I do not have one) that to check the AC to see if you need to charge it you should watch the little window on the pipe and see the bubbles, no bubbles. The compressor does not "kick-in" when I turn on the AC, which leads me to think that there must be a fuse or a relay that is hiding from me.
Does anyone out there know where that fuse/relay might be?

If no one else has said it - Welcome to the forum!
I believe the fuse(s) & relay(s) for AC would be in the fuse center under the hood - probably on the passenger side.
This link might help.

You won't see bubbles unless the compressor is running and you're low on refrigerant. There's also a low pressure safety switch that cuts the compressor off if the level gets too low. You should use a gauge to see if you have any refrigerant at all in your system.

The compressor won't come on if the refrigerant is low. There are switches that control this.
There are posts on this forum about low pressure. YOu will need gages or at least the low side one. You will need to jump the clutch directly to take a reading.
