94 GTC Power Top Not Working.. Help!!

I have a 94 Lebaron GTC convertible, and the power top has quit working. When I hit the switch, all I hear is a click sound coming from the back seat area. This happens in hitting both up or down. I’ve done some reading on this forum on this, but am confused about a couple of things. Here are my questions:

Are there any relays involved with the operation of the top? If so, where are they and are there separate relays for up and down?

Is there a way to manually override the power top so that I can easily raise and lower the top until I get it fixed?

What is the best way to access the power top motor? Some posts say thru the trunk area, and some say through the back seat.

If I do need a new motor, any recommendations as to where to get one?

Thanks in advance for any and all replies!!

the problem with my motor is a bit more problematic, but the easiest way for me anyway is to get to the motor by the backseat, but I don't think you need a new one, I think there's something stuck there. my motor only goes down but won't come back up.

Alright, I am having the same problem as you are, marragtop. The clicking sounds and all. Your motor is getting juice, it just doesn't have the power to lift or retract the top anymore. Chances are you DO need a new hydraulic pump, there is also a chance there's something stuck. Check to make sure the arms are clear of debris and try again. As for your list...

I don't recall there being any relays between the switch and the motor.

Only way to manually override the power top is by taking out the hydraulics...lengthy and potentially messy affair, but is what I will be doing instead of buying a new pump since they cost about $500 from what I've been hearing.

The best way for ME to access my PUMP is through the trunk. Acessing the arms is easiest through the back seat.

No idea where to get a new motor. DO NOT check a junk yard as these motors/pumps are likely AS BAD OR WORSE than the one you have already. A dealership should have them, you could call and check and find out their price even. I haven't been able to find any at parts stores :\.
