Fairlady Z32 Restoration

Digging through my basement this evening I came across an old (Fujimi I'm pretty sure) Fairlady 300ZX that I built probably 15 years ago. Although it was poorly built and hasn't weathered very well, it has a widebody kit I haven't seen much of. Here's a few pics in all it's thickly painted and dusty glory (sorry they're dark)

I've been thinking of restoring this 90's beauty by transferring the body kit and wheels to a new 300z kit. I assume that if it's Fujimi, then any of their Z32 kits would make a decent donor car? How about a Tamiya kit with engine detail? Does anyone know how similar the proportions are between the Fujimi and Tamiya 300ZX? Would a Fujimi body kit mate easily to a Tamiya kit or would there be a lot of massaging? Thanks in advance. :)

Yeah the wheels do have a bit of a dish to them. :)
I did a little searching and confirmed that was part of Fujimi's 345 Tuning series (along with a Supra & Skyline R32). I Even found a whole kit on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/Fujimi-Fairlady-300ZX-1-24-Scale-Mint_W0QQitemZ140016183889QQihZ004QQcategoryZ2585Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). I'm guessing that using a Fujimi donor will still be much easier than a Tamiya.

good stuff man go for it! Tamiya kit would be nicer as it looks more accurate in the tail lights and the front nose/headlight area

There probably wouldnt be much more work adding it to a tamiya kit, than to refit it to a fujimi. Go tamiya. I am fitting one of the veilside kits onto a tamiya and it seems ok so far.

wow thats a pretty cool kit there. The wide body is real nice. I say go the tamiya kit as well... looking forward to seeing it refitted.
