bolt pattern is 5x114.3. 17x8 should work for you. I believe thats a stock size on an SL anyways. Tires...go with 245-45R17. If you have the car lowered or plan to do so, you could go with a 40-series and it will look good. Speed rating, i would suggest "V" or better
as for specific wheels/tires...go to tirerack.com for the rubber, and look on the 3si.org forum in the wheels section for wheel ideas.

what offset do i get??????? what is offset????
AutostradaVR4
08-10-2006, 04:00 PM
the offset is how far from the center of the wheel the mounting surface is, in millimeters (mm). If its towards the outside of the wheel (like stock 3/s's), its a positive offset. If its towards the inside of the wheel (like on some RWD "muscle cars"), its a negative offset. If its right in the center of the wheel (like some 4wd vehicles), the offset is 0.
im pretty sure your gonna want +35 to +45...you can go as low as +25 , thats what mine are, but thats why they stick out a little bit.

Tires...go with 245-45R17.
I would say he could go with 250/45 or 255/45. I have 245/45 on my TT and the sidewall isn't quite flat. You could get away with a slightly wider tire. Only thing is that I think from a 245 to a 255 there is quite a price jump.

I thought they were only 8" on the TTs. I could be wrong and if that is the case then 245s would be the way to go.

Only problem with going with a 255/45 is the tire also gets taller as well as wider.

Ah, I forgot about that. Yeah, you would want to drop to at least a 40 profile then.
