There is a kid around town that has this car and he gets it to shoot flames out of the exhause all the time. From what I know about the car it is stock. I was just wondering how he gets it to do it?

Rotaries are known to backfire a lot :) The rotars are moving so fast at higher revs, that the gas is not fully combusted, but it still exits the exhaust ports and combust there and BOOM fire out the exhaust!
From what I know anyways lol. It's easier to shoot flames out of a larger diameter exhaust pipe as well.

If you remove the cats and then drill a hole in the tail pipe large enough to fit a spark plug in, you can hook it up to some juice and get all those unburnt hydrocarbons to light up. I assume this would work really well with a rotary considering they don't quite burn as clean.

but you don't even need to do that
ever seen an rx7 hooked up to an egt gauge? the exhaust temps are hot enough alone.

YEah. Just dont make a habit of it when your not driving, unless you WANT to replace your bumper and tails.
