Shift kit for an automatic

Unfortunatly I was blessed with an automatic transmission...do shift kits really make that much of a difference...anyone? And...what else can I do to get my car to really get up and go? All I have under the hood so far is a cold air intake. Thanks.

what engine do you have in the car?? and year is it???

EDIT: about the shift kit, I have never used one on my cars but from what I hear they are great. so yes a shift kit does make a pretty big difference.

from what I was looking at it seems there is 2 different stages,
Stage 1 - Heavy Duty
Firm positive shifts without loss of driver comfort for improved performance in all street vehicles. Recommended for regular passenger vehicles.

Stage 2 - Street/Strip
Provides very positive shifts for high performance street use or for competitive events. This model is for the enthusiast who wants the hardest, quickest possible shift.

so basically it

sweet, I already planned on getting an RK sport header(s)...just kidding about the s, sorry I was reading a post on the performance part and they went nuts over the s on there....yeah just forget i said that. anyway. RK Sport header, Greddy catback (either high flow cat or none at all...what do you think?) larger downpipe/mid pipe and a tip, pulleys, and I've ordered my nitrous and I'm like a few months away from ordering a super charger. Oh and not from the list, obviously a shift kit, lol.

Thanksyeah everyone tends to freak out when you mention headers for a car that only had one :lol: I would probably go with a highflow cat instead of just a straight pipe. and maybe a resonator if you wanted.

as far as the ignition goes you can get,
-coil packs
-ECM
-igniton module
-wires
-plugs

Shift kits do a lot more harm than good.
All they do is raise the transmission pressure to a dangerous level that will cause a lot more harm than good.
Also they will interfer with the computer control of transmission.
If you want a soliod shift put a standard transmission in it.

B&M spokesmen swear up and down that the shift plus will help prolong the life of your tranny. Thanks to other people who use it as well as myself I believe it.

I've heard nothing but good things about B&M shift kits. If I had an automatic tranny I would def be getting that kit. :)

And them torrnado salesman say better gas mileage to.

So they are going to have to show me.
All most shift kit does is set up shiftand line pressure which in the long run will damage your transmission.

what have you heard about Trans-go shift kits? I was thinking of getting one of those. Turns out you can actually make it shift you want to with a lever, and plus modify your shift points...any opinions?

im just curious were you found a greddy catback exhaust system for the 2200 motor....as far a your cat goes you will loose power if you have no form of restriction,s so you will definiatly want to run at least a high flow cat.
