Hi I just got a 90 Civic hatchback and want to do away with the 1.5L and 4 speed manual tranny. I would like to know what the cost would be to get either of the 2 engines and trannys.

90-93 Integra LS engine and tranny or the B16A (like in the Del Sol VTEC and the 99-2000 Civic Si) engine and tranny.
Thanks

First off good choice. What you have is a fourth gen civic. My name is Chad and I have a 91 civic-(88-91)-fourth gen civic. The 1.5 engine is a pain I know all to well. Now you have to ask yourself what you want to do with this engine?--LS motor--awsome if your going turbo has lots of torque--B16A--flawless natural aspiraion. motor prices vary go to hondamotorsonline.com they seem to have good prices and a no sensors broken guarantee--hard to find. Hope I helped keep in touch and I can help you with lots of cool mods-teg console is cool for lots more info on your car check out the 88-91 civic mb. thats were youll cind me most the time and everyone is really nice and wiling to help

Hey AccordGirl! Long time since I've heard from you.

I'll give you the number for B&K Engines. My last CX engine blew out on me and I was in need of a engine. I didn't have enough money for a powerful engine, so I got a DX motor. It wasn't exactly cheap... but the quality was there. It came with only 20,000 miles on it straight from Japan.

I don't know if they will sell you an engine or not though... I've given a few people their number and told me the guyz were assholes. Also... if they do sell you a motor that you want, I don't know if they will do the swap for you. I've had them replace my motor and 2 tranny's now and I like them... but other people I know haven't had the same luck.

Here's the number: 253.582.4668.

Just call them and ask if they can get an engine for you... tell them exactly what you want it for. If they tell you they can't do it... well... then I'm sorry. But it's worth a try to ask. All of their motors come right from Japan.

They are located in the yellow warehouses just off of Steele Street right across from Parkland Putters.

Also... I remember we met through PureHonda.com and I was just wondering if you knew that the site is back up under the name PureHonda.org. If not... now you know. Come back to us! ;)

Also... if you haven't checked out NWHonda.net... do so now. I've been a member for a few months and I love the board and the community on there. Everybody is local and really cool. I've attended one meet so far and it was so much fun. Maybe you can come to one of the meets... they have meets quite frequently. See ya!

Oh yeah... and Chad. I know you don't know her... but trust me... she's not a newbie when it comes to cars. I went with her to SIR for my first time... she races all the time. Really cool girl. Oh yeah... and do you still work at GI Joe's? I haven't seen you lately.

Hey what's up. My name is stefan and live in Auburn. There is a guy up north that sells the JDM B16a's. Give him a call his name is Rob and his number is 1-360-421-9915. I was going to get a swap from him but I decided to go with the B18C1 USDM. Good luck. stefan525.
PS: you can see what you buy and pay for it when you get it. All you need is a truck so you don't have to pay for S/H. Saves you about $300.

Hey thanks a lot you guys. I will have to try them out and see who has the best deal. I am kind of considerning doing this swap myself with some help just to save some money and learn how to do it. Does anyone know what all I would need for the B16a swap (besides engine, tranny, ECU, Wire harness, and Hydrolic Clutch parts) or do you know of a web site or would Hybrid Honda Online have the info. I know what I would need for a LS swap, because we have a 91 Civic HB with this swap already. Thanks

GhettoLegs: Hey, I think I am signed up on PureHonda, and I am also on NWhonda, but never have time anymore to get online and read the posts. I made it to only 2 race events this year (yeah I know I suck). Went down to Oregon and watched the big wigs go. Got video and lots of pictures. And went to Pacific Raceways, raced and got pictures. Pacific raceway (SIR) Import events are not like they use to be with the ET's they just do time runs all night long.

Chad: Isn't your civic the Red Hatchback with the Big white [H] on the back window from what I remember you said before on a post?? I want something that I can do a lot of mods with. I have a 89 CRX also and am not sure what engine I want to put in it either. Light weight and H22 sounds tempting. :)
