ok... holy crap!..

I was on my way to my grandmothers house just now (just got back)... and as I was turning onto the fun to drive back road to get there, I notice a black mustang (around 2000 model) riding my but, so I left it in second for a while and speed up to around 60mhr (limit is 45 on this road) to see what this guy (just assumming as there was massive tint on this car) would do... He keeps up with me pretty good and then gets right on my bumper when I stop accelerating.

So I push it up to 75 and he stays with me, I switch Ecs to sport and i keep it in 4th because this is as fast as im willing to go on this part of the road (gentle curves but patched and shoddy roadwork).. He is still right on me as we slow down as there is a t intersection where you cant see up next...(I will be taking a right).. I'm still rolling at around 10 mhr and i gun it from first and spin my tires around the corner.. but to my amazement he follows suit and spins also...

Now there is a decent strait away and I pull well ahead of him pushing my car as we hit 80mhr (I know now that its for real even though I feel like I am in an Initial D show) He gets up to about the same speed as me but the staight away is over and now there will be some corners, I brake and clutch and take the first one at about 60, hear my tires squealing under me but I feel stable, shift back down to 3rd and begin to speed back up as I see him clear it and he is around six lengths back now...

So I'm feeling good at this point, he obviously cant push his car as good as I can, and I felt great in the first corner even though there are two very tight ones up ahead after a few ones similar to the one I just cleared... So I keep pushing, and we go through the rest of the corners, he is getting to a faster top speed than me but I am faster accelerating ans through the turns...

But then there are two tight corners just before a staitaway and then my destination... I'm probably 8-10 lengths in front of him now as i brake and take the first... But as soon as my tires squeal, I feel my powere steering go.. (scares the shite out of me!) but I'm a fairly strong guy and I brake a little harder and barely make it around the corner almost hitting a tree on the outside with my front bumper on the passenger side... But as soon as I get around it the steerning comes back, he is almost on my butt again and so I put it in second and gain a little distance on him when I enter the next corner.

I take it easier this time (as I am sort of freaking out but at the same time determined to "win") but the same result, power steering goes, almost hit a tre, slow way down and he is almost touching my car now!... So its the straitaway before my destination but I am so disheveled from the steering that I get only about a car length and then I have to turn... so he handed my ass to me in my eyes... but I give a wave and turn into the driveway (only going around 10mhr now and my car stalls out... :banghead: not sure if that was my fault or not :banghead: )

So then I am headed home and Im driving normal.. trying to not take it too easy and to recreate the problems but nothing...

so...
1. good race I thought you all would enjoy..\
2. Why was my steering going out,... the only thing i can think of is Maybye i needed to give it gas even though the clutch was in while going around the corners to give the pump more power? Anyway I'm not too experienced in this type of racing but maybye someone on here will know what i did wrong or if something is really broken on the vehicle...

later AMN

Did this happen when you were in gear? This kinda happen 2 me when i would go n2 high speeds and shit 2 neutral but my car would turn off so i would need to pop the clutch to start it again. but anyways that really is a scary feelin when you have a heavy car.

Check your battery tiedown, terminals and cables...and be careful racing.

Yeah it happened when I went to neutral... I guess it is possible that I was stalling and then poping the clutch when going out of the corner... didnt have time to check the rpms when i was struggling with the wheel... Yeah very scary because of the weight (thank you bowflex!:grinyes: )

Ok... Ill check those... Don't worry about me Igo!... I'm used to driving heavy powerful cars so i'm usually very carefull (I wasnt only using one hand to steer like in the movies haha)... But man sucks to lose to a mustang especially when I was owning him so good! arghh

Mine isn't either and it's caused the car to die randomly during highspeed braking/turning. Basically the positive cable has slipped off a few times and it has died. I don't know if that is your cause, but it's at least something to look at. It's not really safe either, because you are looking at a very bad situation if it slides enough to ground itself out on the hood or something

Sounds like if everyone would just get the tie-downs taken care of, the problem would be.. less abundant? I would also just like to point out that the bananas were dancing to the beat of my music.

I don't have one because I have to custom fab one to work with my strut bar. Now if you don't have something actually beneficial to add, please don't post whore. Thanks.

Wow Igo! Stern... yet needed...:nono: dont be a post whore...

Anyway.. I really wish I had of just relocated my battery to my trunk like done on stealth 316... But sadly I already installed my amps and the new wireing would be a lot of work since it already looks good... but then there is so much more room under the hood... sigh... I guess i need to decide if i want to do that or just buy the tiedown... hmmm...
