loss of power on track

I have been racing my old 89 nissan sentra at the local dirt track, It was running great at first, but recently, when I punch it out of the corner the car has no power, it doesn't have a tac so I can't tell say what rpm it starts to pick back up. Before I took it there it sat almost two years, I am going to replace the plugs with ngk v power, and run seafoam through the vaccume lines. The wires, cap, and rotor were all replaced shorly before the car was stored. Is there anything else that I can do that may help solve my problem? I was also wondering if there are any adjustments that can be made to the trottle body to give the car more gass.

well, id suggest running thru your gas then filling it up again. if you had a tank sit for 2 years, almost certain it has bad gas. theres not much you can do to your TB, but a little trick i learned, if you take the vacuum hose off the FPR and plug the hose with a bolt/screw, you will run full fuel pressure at all rpm instead of only at WOT. but im not sure if that will help u.

replace fuel filter, flush lines or replace them, swap out your air filter and clean your gas tank, you may also want to have your injectors looked at........sentra on a dirt track sounds fun

I have probably went through about 10 gallons of fresh gass since bringing the car back out. Would full fuel pressure all the time be dangerous or cause any engine damage? What would happen at idle if all that gas is being dumped in? If it would get me any extra power, it sure would help, cars need to be stock, no performance parts, and the 1.6l is a little underpowered to some of the other 4cyl cars. As far as flushing the fuel lines and cleaning the gas tank, I cant get the car home so Ill have to work at the track, is adding a fuel system cleaner to the gas enough or will I actually need to dissconect lines and remove tank to have any effect?
Thanks for your help.

drop both ends of the line and blow compressed air through there at about 125 psi, shouldnt even have to dismount the wires, only disconnect the ends, that 1.6 is a little slow but its damn bulletproof, i took mine out mudding in a lake, she still runs like a champ, i wouldnt take my new spec out there though.......lol

running rich all the time wont get you more than maybe .1 hp, but if you do little things it can help.

other things you can do...

advance ignition timing a degree or two by twisting the distributor.
theres a couple coolant hoses that go into the throttle body and intake manifold. reroute these so they dont go thru the TB or intake mani.

get one of those .99 cent ebay MAF mods that they say gives +20hp.
all it is is a resistor that you plug into your intake air temp sensor and it makes your ECU think its getting -40 degree air. its not good for +20 but its maybe good for +1 or so.

if you want, you can hand port your head and manifolds. also you can gut your stock muffler.

Would it be a bad idea to try to advance the timing without using a light? I would probably just make a mark before turning in case I want to go back. I have also heard that Ill know I went to far if I hear pining, but there is already a slight ticking noise coming from the engine. Is there a descripion of the sound I will hear from spark knock so I can recognize it among all the other noises my car makes?

the ticking is just valve clicking. just mark the distributor and turn it about 1mm advanced, then more if you feel safe. use premium gas if you do this though.
