99 Grand Am Dashboard Replacement

I have a 99 Pontiac Grand Am that desperately needs a dashboard replacement. I live in Florida and with the sun & heat it's just warping and cracking more and more daily. The dash is also warped underneath the steering wheel.

Where would I go to find a replacement dash and how difficult is this job to do it myself.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

PS - I do have a passenger air bag to deal with as well.

try finding one in a local auto junk yard, or find a used one on e-bay (but you have to pay shipping that way), shipping ran me around $100 to ship my trans am dash board & steering wheel, it also had to be shipped truck freight so you might have to have it shipped to a business (had it shipped to my work). dashboards are not terriable to replace, but it makes people nervous messing with all the wires. I've had 3 dashboards out in my lifetime, if you have patience and take your time its not that hard, just alot to remember where it goes. don't be scared of the airbag just don't unplug it with your head over it (they can go off), my dash came with that airbag in it, the you just plug and unplug. I'd pull the airbag fuse before starting. Im sure someone will tell you the safe way, I like to gamble I did mine with the fuse in.

Once you pull off all of the trim around the bottom there should be 2 bolts that hold it (one near each door) (probably 10mm socket), be sure when re-installing to put the wires back on (those ground the whole dash). under the speaker covers you should have some screws that hold the top on. don't forget to remove the screws that hold in the fuse pannel. drop the steering column down as far as it will go (2 big nuts). then start to wiggle things out and be sure not to break or streach any wiring (remember to remove the stereo, heat controls, dash, ect ... before taking the dash loose) (sorry I know things are out of order, but im tired today). the last big obsticle is the duct work behind the dash (these are differnt for each model, and where the bolts are, on the T/A I had to get at one thru the backside of the dash. Under the steering column there will be relays and clips all along the back side of the dash holding the wiring up (remember where they all went). take your time and its not that hard, just flustrating trying to figure out whats still holding it.

I have the same problem. I found this. It seemed less expensive and trouble to check it out. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=7vU7egZ2enA&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D7vU7egZ2enA
