i OWN A 97 gtp WITH ABOUT 180K MILES ON IT. REACENTLY I GOT THE ODOR OF GAS INSIDE WHILE DRIVING. FINALLY I POPED THE HOOD AND FOUND THE CONNECTOR ON THE FUEL RAIL TO BE LEAKING. iVE TRYED LOOKING AT PARTS STORES FOR THE HOSE WITH CONNECTION BUT NO ONE HAS IT. SO ITOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY SAID I HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE LINE. BUT ONLY THE CONNECTOR IS LEAKING. ANY1 HAD THIS PROBLEM. ALSO WHAT MAY HAVE CAUSED HOSE TO LEAK. cOULD I HAVE TO MUCH PRESSURE IN MY FUEL LINES MAKING IT LEAK.????OR IS IT PROBABLY JUST A OLD BAD CONNECTION.tHANX

Welcome to AF, take it easy here, may be the line or the internal seal, the shop should be able to see what the exact problem is, not high pressure, they have the best opportunity to see the issue here.

The o-rings inside the line where the connector is located fail and cause the lines to leak. To repair the leak you need to change the o-rings. PM Richtazz and see if he can help you with some new ones. I have the part numbers of some aftermarket ones that will fit but unfortunately, I don't have them with me at the present time. The hardest part of this repair is removing the old o-rings.

To remove the fuel injector rail pressure or return lines it is highly recommended to use a fuel line disconnect tool to get the connector off the rail otherwise you may be needing the connector and fuel line.

Also, make sure fuel pressure is properly relieved before doing any work on the fuel injection system. Engine cool and battery negative disconnected.

The o-rings should be available locally.

Thanks ill go try the parts store for those o-rings. i found a nylon fuel line repair kit but requires me to cut and reconnect with a join fitting but would rather just replace the o-rings.sounds better not to cut.
